Follows Park Bom's Recent Departure from K-pop Group 2NE1

South Korean singer Park Bom has caused concern and confusion with reports of her attempting to sue the CEO of her former band's management company.

The singer's talent agency has now publicly responded to her allegations.

Bom, a former member of the recently-reunited K-pop band 2NE1, took to social media this week to reveal supposed details of a lawsuit against Yang Hyun-suk, the founder of YG Entertainment.

The music management company represents Blackpink, one of the most successful female K-pop groups, as well as 2NE1.

Bom shared a photo on Instagram showing a document listing herself as the plaintiff and Hyun-suk as the defendant.

The document claimed she was suing Hyun-suk for 64,272,000,000,000,000 won.

For context, South Korea's GDP is valued at just 2.61 quadrillion won, equivalent to $1.87 trillion.

The document mentioned the amount as '100,200,300,400,600,700,100,000,34 '642,72e trillion won' (around $4.5 quadrillion), however.

Bom also accused Hyun-suk of 'fraud and embezzlement,' stating in the document that she was owed 'profits that should have been rightfully paid... for a long period of time'.

The post has since been removed, and Bom's agency, D-Nation, has released a statement regarding the matter.

On Instagram, D-Nation stated: "The settlement related to Park Bom’s 2NE1 activities has already been completed, and the complaint posted on social media has not been received. Park Bom has paused all activities and is currently focusing on treatment and recovery.

"Our company will do its best to help the artist regain her health."

This follows 2NE1's reunion under YG Entertainment last year to celebrate their 15th anniversary.

The group, known for their captivating mix of hip-hop, reggae, and electronic music, disbanded in 2016.

All four original members - Lee Chae-rin (CL), Sandara Park, Gong Min-ji (Minzy), and Bom - reunited for the Welcome Back Tour, which took place from October 2024 to April 2025.

However, this August, D-Nation announced that Bom would no longer participate in any of 2NE1's future performances based on the advice of 'medical staff' who recommended 'sufficient rest and stability' for her.

Formed by YG Entertainment in 2009, 2NE1 first appeared on BigBang's 'Lollipop' before debuting in May with the hit 'Fire'.

By the close of 2014, 2NE1 had achieved nine number-one hits on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart, becoming the girl group with the most chart-topping songs at that time.

However, the group disbanded after Minzy's departure, releasing their final single 'Goodbye' in 2017.

In 2022, the group reunited for an unexpected performance at Coachella before reuniting permanently last year.
