The Materialists star also emphasized that she was taught to appreciate her body

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson responded candidly in a recent interview when questioned about her 'revealing fashion choices' on red carpets over the years.

Johnson, 36, is not the first celebrity to don a 'naked' dress at glamorous events, with Zendaya, Zoë Kravitz, and Bella Hadid also choosing more revealing outfits in front of the cameras.

Some of these ensembles are more daring than others - Bianca Censori notably wore a completely sheer dress at the Grammys - and just last month, Johnson showcased a high-neck, long-sleeved black Gucci dress that happened to be completely see-through.

The actor addressed such styles in a new interview with Vogue Germany, where she was asked: "Over the years, you've made some revealing fashion choices.

Do you ever worry about whether a naked dress might be 'too sexy'?"

Regardless of whether you think there's such a thing as being 'too sexy,' Johnson made her stance clear with her straightforward reply: "I really don't care."

The actress emphasized that as long as she feels at ease in a dress, she's happy to wear it.

Johnson elaborated: "I've been able to wear some of the most beautiful dresses, and I feel beautiful in them, so I wear them. Sometimes those dresses look good on me. But there are also some we've tried on that didn't look good at all.

"It depends on the shape, the finish, the color, and everything else. So if I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it! And it's fun to wear a sexy dress."

Johnson's comments on her fashion choices followed her explanation that she was raised to be proud of her body, largely due to her mother's openness about body positivity.

"She taught us to care for our bodies and love them, emphasizing their beauty," she stated. "I believe this is crucial for a young girl, as society often tells us we're inadequate. If the woman you admire most doesn't affirm from a young age that you're perfect, intelligent, special, strong, and brave, it can be damaging.

"Re-learning that self-love later is challenging. That was an invaluable gift she gave me."
