Diane Keaton Has Died at 79
Diane Keaton's final social media message was a touching tribute before she passed away.
Keaton passed away on Saturday, October 11, in California at the age of 79.
A source told People that her health 'declined suddenly'.
Tributes have been pouring in for Keaton, whose remarkable acting career spanned more than fifty years, during which she collaborated with many notable figures in the industry and won an Oscar for her role in Annie Hall.
She had been inactive on social media for a while, with her last Instagram post being months before she passed away.

On April 11th, Keaton marked National Pet Day by sharing a photo of her dog, a Golden Retriever named Reggie.
The touching images featured a smiling Keaton with Reggie, along with pictures of the dog relaxing on a blanket.
The post was in collaboration with the home decor brand Hudson Grace. The company captioned it: “Proof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton."
Keaton was known for her love of dogs and had mentioned welcoming Reggie in 2020.
At that time, she posted: "THIS IS MY NEW DOG, REGGIE!!! IS SHE HALF HORSE OR HALF DOG? MAYBE SHE’S INSANE! I LOVE HER!"
Following Keaton's death, tributes poured in, including from many of her colleagues over the years.
On social media, Leonardo DiCaprio shared: “Diane Keaton was one of a kind.
Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.
“A legend, an icon, and a truly kind human being. I had the honor of working with her at 18. She will be deeply missed.”

Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who portrayed Keaton’s daughter in the Father of the Bride films, expressed her admiration for the icon on Instagram.
She wrote: “Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life.
“You are truly unique, and it was exhilarating to be in your presence for a time.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter.”
Director and producer Paul Feig posted on X: “I was so honored to call Diane Keaton a friend. She was an incredibly kind and creative person who also just happened to be a Hollywood legend,” he wrote. “She has been taken from us far too soon. We will miss you, Diane.”
Keaton played numerous roles throughout her career, but her breakthrough performance was as Kay Adams, the girlfriend and later wife of Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather.
