Joe Biden Comments on Trump's Gaza Peace Agreement with Unexpected Remarks

Since his defeat in the 2020 election, Donald Trump has frequently criticized former President Joe Biden.

Following President Donald Trump's successful negotiation of a ceasefire in Gaza this week, his predecessor has praised his administration.

As the Republican seeks the Nobel Peace Prize, he has been actively pursuing global peace, resolving conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Pakistan and India—ironically while deploying the National Guard to remove homeless people in Washington D.C.

Unfortunately for the 79-year-old, he was narrowly defeated by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, yet he succeeded in temporarily alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The president had been advocating for Israel to agree to a ceasefire amidst the ongoing bombardment of Gaza since October 2023, following the Hamas-led attack in southern Israel on October 7 of that year.

Hamas, a Palestinian militant organization, had held hostages from Israel for the past two years, while Israel had detained Palestinians. All surviving hostages have now been freed.

According to the BBC, the proposed 'initial withdrawal' in the 'peace plan' agreement would result in Gaza being about 55 percent occupied, with a second phase reducing it to around 40 percent occupied.

The final withdrawal phase is expected to establish a 'security buffer zone', leaving approximately 15 percent of Gaza occupied by the Israeli military.

Recently, on Twitter, former president Joe Biden praised his successor, Donald Trump, while also attempting to share some credit for his own administration.

"I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come - for the last living 20 hostages who have endured unimaginable hell and are finally reunited with their families and loved ones, and for the civilians in Gaza who have faced immeasurable loss and will finally have the opportunity to rebuild their lives," he wrote.

"Achieving this deal was challenging. My Administration worked tirelessly to bring hostages home, provide relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the conflict.

I commend President Trump and his team for their efforts in finalizing the renewed ceasefire agreement.

"Now, with the support of the United States and the international community, the Middle East is on a path to peace that I hope will last, offering a future for both Israelis and Palestinians with equal measures of peace, dignity, and safety."

This statement comes just days after Trump once again told reporters on Air Force One that Biden - who he previously insisted no one should feel sorry for after being diagnosed with cancer - is incompetent.

"We had an incompetent administration. We had an incompetent president. And because of a crooked election, millions of people are dead," he stated.

"Moreover, the Israeli situation was much more difficult to resolve due to the previous administration."
