The series has been likened to some of the greatest of all time, featuring Suranne Jones as the UK's Prime Minister.
A new Netflix series is being praised as a '10/10' experience, with fans 'binging' it in just one day.
The high-stakes drama has unexpectedly become a major hit, being compared to the platform’s most captivating thrillers, and consists of only five episodes.
Despite its runtime of under five hours, the political drama delivers more twists, tension, and emotional depth than many shows achieve over whole seasons.
The narrative revolves around a disturbingly believable crisis: the British prime minister's husband is abducted during a critical diplomatic summit. Simultaneously, the French President is confronted with a series of escalating threats.
With both nations endangered, the two leaders must choose between cooperation and engaging in a risky game of political brinkmanship.
Suranne Jones stars as British Prime Minister Abigail Dalton, delivering one of her most commanding performances, while Julie Delpy portrays the French President.

The show in question is Netflix's newest limited series, Hostage.
Expressing their enthusiasm on Twitter, one user commented: "Hostage on Netflix is so, so good. The Brits know how to make TV."
Another person wrote: "Hostage on Netflix. 10/10," and a third commented: "Watching Hostage on Netflix. Bingeing the last two episodes. So good. I’d like to elect Suranne Jones as PM."
On Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds a 78 percent approval rating, but it's the audience that's creating the most buzz online.
“This feels like ten episodes packed into five, and I mean that as a compliment,” one fan commented.
Someone else remarked: “I completed it in one sitting - it was impossible to turn away! Suranne Jones is truly exceptional.”
Discussing the show, lead actor Jones expressed to Tudum: "I'm delighted to be part of Netflix, in a project I'm truly proud of. It's something I've wanted to pursue for a long time.
"We had discussed projects before, but I was waiting for the right opportunity. Hostage was ideal - collaborating with Matt and supported by an amazing, encouraging team. I enjoyed it immensely."
Matt Charman, the writer of the show and creator of Bridge of Spies, added: "I've been eager to find the perfect story to collaborate on with Suranne, and I truly believe her portrayal of this character will captivate the Netflix audience."
"A beleaguered British Prime Minister engaged in a battle for her nation and her family - she's intense, relentless, and utterly captivating."
Hostage can now be streamed on Netflix.
