On September 8, police were notified of a foul odor emanating from a vehicle.

Police have provided an update on the investigation concerning a corpse discovered in the trunk of a Tesla.

Earlier this month, authorities were alerted to a vehicle at a Hollywood tow yard in Los Angeles due to a foul odor. It is believed the car had been there 'for a couple of days'.

Law enforcement made a grim discovery and found a decomposing body in the trunk of the vehicle.

The LAPD informed LADbible Group that on September 8, 2025, at approximately 12:20 pm, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue due to a foul smell emanating from a vehicle at a tow yard.

"Detectives arrived and discovered what appeared to be human remains. The case is currently being treated as a death investigation. We do not have details about the vehicle's owner."

It was later disclosed that the car was registered to the singer d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

When the news emerged, d4vd was on his Withered tour. He was scheduled to perform in Seattle yesterday, but the concert was canceled.

The singer is reportedly aware of the situation and is 'fully cooperating with the authorities'.

His representative previously stated that d4vd 'has been informed about what happened, and although he is still on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities'.

Police have now identified the body as that of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.

Rivas was reported missing in April 2024. She was only 13 at the time of her disappearance, according to a missing poster issued then. It described her as being 5ft 3 and 120 pounds with brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Rivas was last seen near Lake Elsinore, California.

Her identification follows the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's announcement last week that the body was a female believed to be around 5ft 2 with wavy black hair, as reported by BBC News.

The remains, which were not intact, also had a tattoo on her finger that read 'Shhh'.

The exact time and cause of Rivas' death have not yet been established, but authorities suspect the girl may have been deceased for a significant period.

"Currently, the LAPD has not received a crime classification from the coroner regarding the mode or manner of death. Therefore, we do not have any suspect information at this time," stated the LAPD, according to NBC News.
