Specialist issues caution to couples considering the increasingly popular 'cuckolding' sex trend

The trend might not be for everyone...

An expert has cautioned that a rising sex trend carries certain risks.

Couples, in particular, may experiment with these trends to add excitement to their love lives, with one notable fetish being cuckolding.

According to BedBible, "The term 'cuckold' or 'cuckoldry' historically described a man whose wife was unfaithful, suggesting he is aware of and possibly complicit in the infidelity.

"In contemporary use, it is often linked to sexual fetishes involving the cuckold fantasy, where a man (or woman) takes pleasure from their partner engaging in sexual activities with another person while they watch or otherwise participate."

Although this may not appeal to everyone, more people than expected have tried or considered it.

Some couples are experimenting with cuckolding

Justin Lehmiller, a social psychologist and author, conducted a survey of over 4,000 Americans regarding their sexual fantasies. The results showed that 26 percent of heterosexual women, 42 percent of non-heterosexual women, 52 percent of heterosexual men, and 66 percent of non-heterosexual men had fantasized about voyeuristic cuckolding, which involves fantasies of watching one's partner engage in sexual activity with someone else.

In response to its increasing popularity, sex expert and author of So You Want To Be a Cuckold? Adreena Winters has discussed the advantages and disadvantages of cuckolding.

Addressing concerns that it might harm a relationship, Winters stated: "I receive some comments from individuals worried that taking this step might damage their relationship or lead to their partner finding someone better, but that’s not the case. I’ve observed that it can actually strengthen the bond."

However, she cautioned that "the relationship needs to be really good in the first place" before exploring this increasingly popular sex trend.

"It's not about replacing anybody," Winters added.

The expert notes that it's not only younger couples who are experimenting with cuckolding.

"I've observed married couples with children showing interest in cuckolding," she mentioned, adding: "Many older couples introduce it later on, especially if they met at a young age. They feel the need to explore more."

Winters added: "Couples must have that connection, or cuckolding won't be as satisfying.

"Cuckolding can also enhance communication because couples need to ensure they’re reconnecting and having open and honest discussions."
