Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged to be married!

Today (August 26), the record-maker from The Tortured Poets Department happily announced that her football player boyfriend Kelce has proposed.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are tying the knot," she shared on Instagram along with a collection of photos featuring her and Kelce.

Even before she began dating the 35-year-old NFL star, Swift's fans remarked that she exuded 'English teacher vibes'.

One reason for this is the many literary references she has included in her music throughout the years — such as Romeo and Juliet in 'Love Story'. Additionally, in her track 'New Romantics', she references Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter.

Additionally, Swift's look is reminiscent of an English teacher's style (in the best possible way).

Someone tweeted in July: "Taylor would be my favorite English teacher, and I'd likely have a crush on her."

Another social media user wrote in 2023 alongside a compilation video of Swift interacting with young fans: "I just realized that one of the reasons I love Taylor Swift is because she exudes such English teacher vibes, and as someone who gets emotionally attached to English teachers, I understand.
