Donald Trump commended ABC for removing Jimmy Kimmel's show from the air.
Donald Trump commented on the removal of Jimmy Kimmel's show after the host's statements about Charlie Kirk.
Kimmel's late-night TV show has been broadcast for over twenty years, but it has now been indefinitely suspended following the comedian's remarks about Trump and his supporters after Kirk's assassination.
Confirming that the show will be off air for the time being, a spokesperson for ABC informed BBC News: "Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely."
The veteran talk show host has not yet commented on the issue, but figures like Ben Stiller have criticized ABC for its decision. He stated on Twitter regarding the news: "This isn't right."
However, not everyone supports Kimmel, and many Republicans have called for the 57-year-old to be fired.
What did Jimmy Kimmel say?

In his opening monologue on Monday night's episode (September 15), Kimmel remarked, according to NBC News: "Over the weekend, the MAGA group desperately attempted to portray the kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything but one of their own, while trying to gain political advantage from the situation."
"Amidst the blame game, there was mourning on Friday. The White House lowered the flags to half-staff, which faced some criticism, but on a personal level, you can see how deeply the president is affected by this."
He proceeded to criticize the president for setting aside his purported grief to concentrate on building the White House's controversial new $200 million state ballroom.
Taking a jab at Trump, Kimmel commented: "Yes, he’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction. Demolition, construction. This is not how an adult mourns the murder of someone he considered a friend. This is how a 4-year-old grieves a goldfish, OK?"
What has been Trump's response?

The President of the United States celebrated Kimmel's show being taken off the air and took a moment during his UK visit to meet King Charles to post a message on Truth Social.
"Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED," Trump wrote.
"Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what needed to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC.
Their ratings are also terrible. Do it NBC!!!"
UNILAD has reached out to Kimmel's representatives for comment.
