The Ukrainian president cautioned about Russia's aggression in his UN address

Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a serious warning regarding Russian aggression during his speech at the UN.

The Ukrainian president addressed the assembly as Russian forces continue their unlawful invasion of his nation. During his speech, he cautioned that Russian aggression threatens broader European security.

Zelenskyy's address occurs as Russian aircraft and drones have made several minor incursions into European airspace, including Poland, a NATO member.

In September, approximately 20 Russian drones violated Polish airspace, and three Russian MiG-31 jets breached Estonian airspace last week.

According to NATO regulations, an attack on one member state requires other members to respond as if they themselves were attacked.

Zelenskyy utilized his speech to advocate for enhanced measures to bolster European security as Russia continues to test limits beyond Ukraine.

He stated: “Putin will continue to push the war further, both in scope and intensity.

“We previously warned you: Ukraine is just the beginning. Russian drones are now flying throughout Europe, and Russian operations are spreading to various countries.

“Putin aims to persist with this war by broadening it, and currently, no one is safe.”

Zelenskyy proceeded to caution about the risks associated with technological advancements since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including the creation of AI-controlled drones.

“We are currently experiencing the most destructive arms race in human history,” Zelenskyy remarked.

“Weapons are evolving rapidly. Companies are now developing drones capable of shooting down other drones, and soon drones will be engaging each other, attacking critical infrastructure, and autonomously targeting individuals, with no human involvement, except for those few managing AI systems.”

Zelenskyy highlighted the concerning situation, emphasizing that establishing global rules for the use of AI in weaponry is as critical as stopping the proliferation of nuclear arms.

Historically, wars have driven advancements in weapon technology, and this conflict is no exception.

"With each passing year of this war, weapons become increasingly lethal. Russia is solely to blame for this," Zelenskyy cautioned.

He continued: "We are prepared to offer our advanced weapons as your modern security. We have decided to open up arms exports. These are formidable systems proven in real combat when every international institution failed," he stated.

Global leaders addressed the UN General Assembly yesterday, including Syria's Ahmed Al-Sharaa, marking the first appearance of a Syrian president at the UN in nearly six decades.
