Apple has introduced its next generation of iPhones, featuring a new ultra-thin version of its most popular device.
The iPhone 17 series includes a new, slimmer model that will carry the Air name, which Apple already uses for its sleekest iPads and Mac computers.
As part of Apple's annual tradition, all four new iPhone 17 models will offer improved cameras and longer-lasting batteries compared to last year’s series.
The iPhone 17 models will feature a minimum of 256 gigabytes of storage, doubling the previous generation's base capacity, and will come in five colors: lavender, mist blue, black, white, and sage.

"We are raising the bar again," Apple CEO Tim Cook declared in front of an audience gathered in an auditorium named after the company’s late co-founder, Steve Jobs, located on its campus in Cupertino, California, on Tuesday (September 9).
The iPhone Air is Apple's slimmest iPhone to date, measuring just 5.6mm thick, which is slightly thinner than Samsung's Galaxy S25 edge at 5.8mm.
With Apple seemingly gaining an edge over Samsung with its new Air phone, the South Korean company quickly took a jab at its main competitor.
Although the Air is indeed very slim, there's one thing it isn't... and that's foldable.
The official Samsung Mobile US Twitter account posted in September 2022 after Apple's annual event where it announced its iPhone 14: "Let us know when it folds."
Samsung went on to retweet their three-year-old post on Tuesday after the iPhone 17 was revealed.
"#iCant believe this is still relevant. [skull emoji]," Samsung commented.
While Samsung has highlighted that the phones don't fold, others have noticed something else about the iPhone Air.
Yes, the iPhone is ultra-thin, but it seems to come at the expense of its aesthetics.

Someone shared photos of the bottom of the phone on Twitter, commenting: "The USB-C port on the new iPhone Air is misaligned lol."
Another person responded: "Ouch. This is so painful to look at. Somebody please help cleanse my eyes."
A third person added: "Steve Jobs would have said this is a disgrace."
Explaining their view, someone suggested: "It’s because of how thin it is and the display layer needs that offset. There’s literally no space left vertically."
What are your thoughts? Does the slightly misaligned USB-C port deter you from considering an iPhone Air?
